First Lord Maalthiir was the ruler of the city of Hillsfar, keeping the city in a persistant state of martial law with the Red Plumes acting as an extension of his military will.
Maalthiir was a greedy, sadistic individual who has a distinct devotion to mercantile power. He regularly arranged for random executions and torture within his realm.
During a coup organized by Jorgen Berginblade (Ambassador of Hillsfar in Yûlash and head of the Red Plumes) this year (1376), Maalthiir was killed and replaced by the same man.
